Cezara Nitigus

PMO Excellence Achiever| Enthusiastic Leader

Biography

Cezara is a highly motivated and enthusiastic Leader with a successful track record in project, program and portfolio delivery, operations management, and change management. She began her career as a process associate in a BPO company, then while studying her master’s degree in project management, moved towards this area and progressed into a Project Administrator and Change Management Lead roles after obtaining her education and several certifications.

After a few years with a multinational corporation kicking off her career as a project management and change management professional, Cezara joined a dynamic international IT company to establish the basis of an internal portfolio management and governance model to ensure a more efficient way of following the internal investment and making sure it aligns with the strategic directions of the organization. She then joined a Romanian-based outsourcing software company in expansion where she started as a program manager and has progressed into a management role. Currently, Cezara holds the PMO Manager role, leading the organization’s PMO strategy and team and driving the project management excellence initiatives.

Topic: – “PMO is not only a project support”.

Synopsis: This session departs from differentiating project management from two perspectives: (a) the project level, where skilled (or not) project managers manage the constrains of the famous triangle of scope, time and cost and (b) the strategic level, delivering added business value to the organization.

Then, passing through the PMO evolution stages (from a methodology perspective), we will focus the discussion around the specifics of the current status, with an emphasis on the Romanian environment.

We’ll approach the struggle between (a) bringing in the organization a set of best practices that worked elsewhere and standards to refer to and (b) adapting the services and support provided to the organization’s context and current pains, keeping in mind the P3O’s golden advice that ‘no size fits all’.

Sharing from personal previous experiences, we’ll go through how PMO can achieve results in the organization and we’ll discuss some of the immediate benefits of having internal project manager (PM) or project management officer (PMO) roles. Having a common work model and methodology, being part of a community of practice and paying attention to stakeholder management and change management aspects will guide this session’s interactive discussion.
